Junior Pony Club
Junior Pony
Club runs all winter. You may use your own horse
or one of ours. We have two tracks... one that is mounted and one
that is not. The unmounted track is the first Sat of every month
and is FREE. Our goal with the unmounted track is to expose
children and parents to horses in a structured program. You join the one that
best fits your budget and time constraints.
The FREE unmounted classes can earn the first level girl scout badge.
We follow the United Stated Pony Club curriculum and complete an
informative 200 page activity book. When we finish the sessions
your child is well on their way to being able to do the first United
States Pony Club rating test.. the D1.
We
will complete a minimum of 10 badges that encompass the things we are
learning about horses and ponies including, Horse Care, Stable
Management, Grooming, Safe Riding and others. There are 20
Badges total, 1/2 are mounted, 1/2 are not.
Mounted classes are once a week and run 2+ hours. Each week is a
full course on a particular topic and includes 40min of ride time.
What is the best part? It is fun! And there is lots of
cuddle time with one of our darling ponies !
There is a materials cost of $60 which includes a barn jacket,
badges and 200 page workbook.
Mounted classes are $50 a class. Mounted classes are limited to
4 children on two ponies. The curriculum is designed for each
"pair" to work together with their pony. Each
child will get a minimum of 40 Min of ride time.
Space is limited. Please call immediately to register for Fall
2009. If you are registering for the free ummounted track we ask
that you register with a friend since many of the activities are done in
