2002 Year End Newsletter

We had a great year! Lots of clinics, Ponykid camps, events,
horse shows and fun. We won't get everything listed, but here
are a few highlights and pictures.
SummerCamp was the great fun for Whitney and Emma pictured
here! (Merlin and Roxy liked it too...)
The barn attended many of the Sierra Nevada Hunter Association shows
as well as several "A" rated shows and out of area
shows. Lauren won on Cody and placed on Jewel at all her
shows. Shana had a super year on Cody winning numerous
medals, championships and classes. Mia did a great job catch
riding on Max and winning. LeeAnn attended her first show as did
PonyKids Sydney and Emma! Jennette attended the Dick Widger
Hunter Clinic along with numerous Tahoe Meadow-ites....Sydney and Emma
went to their first Sierra Nevada Show and brought home top ribbons on
the ponies. All in all
Candice put on a great program!
Summer
PonyCamp (we use horses too!) was great fun and we have added several
new "want to live at the barn" kids to our group.
PonyCamp runs weekly during the summer and once kids graduate from that
they join our twice a week lesson program and can come along to the local
shows with us if that is their goal. It's all for fun and the ponies are great!
PonyKids also has a once a month activity that is free and this year
we had open houses, ponyrides and our 3rd annual Dog Show (yep...we run
it just like a horse show with jumping and flat classes, small and large
divisions). We had 13 dogs this year and it was quite an
undertaking. It is set up and put on 100% by the kids...Tradition
dictates that the "oldest" kid is the judge...this year Shana
took on the role arriving formally with her clipboard and strawhat!.
Combined Training is part of our program at Tahoe Meadows.
Combined training, sometimes called "eventing"
is a combined score over three days in Dressage, Cross Country and
Stadium. Tamera placed Second at Eventful Acres and Theresa won at
Murietta!
We added many new full time boarders and lesson customers this year
and are looking forward to a great group in 2003!
